Mr. Chip Davis is a man of many talents, the main one is his ability to surpass what he has already achieved, and this my friend is where "CHRISTMAS EXTRAORDINAIRE", enters the "Holiday Season" --- This is Mannheim's fourth Christmas album (not counting the live album and the story album), and they haven't yet lost their touch --- If anything, this album could well be the freshest since the original and are very special to me, unforgettable and a must around my home during the Christmas Season, but this release is outstanding, and to invite the many fans to participate in choosing the selections, was very unselfish of Chip, thank you Mr. Davis for including your many followers in this memorable Christmas album.

Mannheim Steamroller is the creation of former jingle composer Chip Davis, a Midwestern musician who first achieved success as the co-writer of the 1975 pop hit "Convoy." --- Chip used his royalties from that song to set up his own studio and launch the Steamroller, a project that fused instrumental pop with classical and jazz influences and a rock beat --- Mannheim Steamroller's albums became wildly successful and set the stage for much of the "adult contemporary" and new age instrumental music of subsequent decades --- Chip achieved perhaps his greatest popularity with a series of Christmas albums that have become perennial staples of the holiday season --- Chip owes much of his success to the fan base plus the radio stations who have supported Mannheim over the past years.
