Summary: Lovely pictures
Comment: The explanations are pretty good, but what sets this book apart is the pictures: large, beautiful and varied. After reading reviews for this book and for the rather unlikely Sushi for Dummies, I elected to purchase both, this one for illustrations and admittedly decent content and the other book because, after all, "dummy" pretty well describes me.

Summary: Very Unhappy With This Book It has None Of The Main Roll Recipes
Comment: Today I received this book it has none of the main sushi roll recipes (spicy tuna roll, normal california roll, hawaiian roll, tiger roll, dynamite roll, pizza roll, crunchy shrimp rolls, etc. etc. etc.) mainly vegitarian rolls, and sashimi.
It does have nice pictures too bad it doesn't have good recipes. I am very disappointed with this book and am returning it.

Comment: This book has great full color pictures throughout. The directions have photos with each step. The directions are simple and super easy to understand. We made great sushi the first time!!!

Comment: Details tools used, spices used, meats used, misc ingredients used.. and even has pictures of it all! I bought this book knowing absolutely NOTHING about sushi, but now I feel pretty darn confident! Thanks!

Comment: I bought this book for my nephew for the holidays, and we both enjoyed it a lot. I always know a gift is a good one when it's the first thing that gets pored over. We liked reading the history and etiquette of sushi, and tried a couple of the recipes - we actually pickled our own ginger one evening! The photos are gorgeous, the recipes are easy to follow, and the ideas for different kinds of sushi are inventive and fresh. Highly recommended.
