This special, full bodied oolong (wu-long) has a flowery and cinnamon aftertaste. It is a good digestive and metabolic stimulant for improved function. Our organic teabag line offers the sophisticated tea drinker a quick alternative. It is not easy to reproduce a loose leaf tea, but if one learns to brew these bags with a little attention, the outcome is a surprisingly good brewa. Some important reminders are the water temperature for teabags should be between 150-180 deg f. Water that comes straight out of a boiling water kettle will especially scorch green or white teabags. Water that comes out of an office water cooler is usually about 160-165 degrees, and that is perfect for our teabags. Please monitor your steeping time. The leaves can infuse in as little as 30 seconds, so vary the steeping time until you discover you own preferred concentration. Do not leave the teabag in the water to 'make it stronger', you will only make it more bitter. Steep for 1.5-2 minutes for a tasty cup that is lighter than an average black tea. Also try using 4-6 oz of water instead of 10-14 oz which is the size of an average mug. By brewing in less water the tea brew will be stronger and tastier. Teabags can be reused once if brewed immediately and with water of a lower temperature. Do not use a teabag again if it has been out for hours or overnight.

A deliciously smooth herbal tea that is perfect for coffee lovers. It does contain caffeine, but many people have a different reaction to this stimulant since it is blended with the other natural xanthines found in Mate (theophylline and theobromine). Together they create energy without jitteriness or addictive tendencies. This tea is also a wonderful diet tea, since it curbs hunger. MateVana does contain nuts.

Information: Cherry Blossom green tea is fresh and smooth with reasonable depth and body. The cherry flavoring and subtle rose hints give the tea a wonderful character. During the spring time Kyoto is ablaze with the new season cherry blossoms and the air is filled with sweet aroma. (The rose petals in this blend are intended to simulate these delicate cherry blossoms and the flavor is reminiscent of the beautiful smells waft on the springtime breezes.) It is little wonder that this ancient city has a very high ratio of tea rooms and this tea was created to honor (very important in Japan) this wonderful time of the year. Hot tea brewing method: Use water that is about 180F or 80C. Place 1 teaspoon of tea in your cup, let the tea steep for about 2-3 minutes and then begin enjoying a cup of enchantment. Iced tea brewing method: (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 teaspoons of tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste.
